Labour fields more women candidates than ever before. Harriet Harman, Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, today joined Stella Creasy and women parliamentary candidates in Walthamstow to release 'Your voice, Your choice' profiling Labour's women candidates and setting out the mechanisms put in place to improve women's and minority representation.

Nominations for the General Election close today and Labour is fielding more women candidates than ever before, and a record number of women in the seats where a sitting Labour MP is stepping down.

Labour has the best record of any UK political party in terms of representation and has continued to make grounds through the use of all women shortlists. Labour currently has three times the number of women MPs than all the other parties combined.
