Campaign Assistants

The elections for Mayor of London and the GLA on 3 May 2012 will be vitally important for London and for the whole country. This is an exciting time to get involved in a campaign that is fast gaining a reputation for using pioneering election methods and mobilising record numbers of volunteers. You will be vital to the delivery of an ambitious and exciting campaign, working with volunteers to communicate directly with voters.

Working to the Head of Field Operations you will assist a Labour Party Organiser in the delivery of our election campaign, including member mobilisation, voter contact, the production and distribution of printed material and other duties, including administration, as required.

You should have experience of campaigning for the Labour Party or another organisation as well as good communication skills, political judgement and the ability to work to deadlines in a high-pressure environment.

Interviews will take place on 20 February 2012. If applying for a part-time position please indicate how many days a week you would be available. Whilst these positions will be based across London according to operational requirements it would be an advantage to indicate any particular area where you have experience of campaigning.

Correspondence Officer
Based: Westminster
£30k  

The Labour Party is seeking to recruit a Correspondence Officer to work in the Leader of the Opposition’s Office.

Working to the Office Manager you will be responsible for all aspects of the Leader’s correspondence. You will be expected to record and manage all incoming and outgoing correspondence (including emails), and maintain systems to ensure that correspondence is processed accurately, effectively and in a timely manner. You will also be a core part of the Leaders Office Support team ensuring that the office is underpinned by first class administration.

You should have experience of administrative systems, be able to work to tight deadlines in a highly pressurised environment and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate will also have experience of a political office, and show the potential and willingness to take on ad-hoc project work for the team.
